The Harrick closing conference addressed the question of how sport – especially football – can contribute to the work- and professional aspirations of young people with migration backgrounds.  The presentation of the project Hattrick offered the attendants an overview of the learning materials and of how these materials can be implemented concretely in football associations.

Partners delivered short reports on their experiences, highlighting the diversity in the project work which resulted from the different scopes of the project throughout the seven partner countries.

In the subsequent podium discussions, the issue of the role which sport/football associations play in terms of the integration of young migrants was addressed, as was the issue of how connections can be made to personal training and personal development.

The discussion was lead by: Dr. Günter Berghammer (die Berater Salzburg), Mag. Franz Erwin Eiersebner (expert for migration, Province of Salzburg) Josef Faschingbauer (Football Association Salzburg), Mag. Birgit Staudinger (Intergration Centre, Upper Austria) and Bernd Wimmer (vocational trainer of the BBU).
